Triki!
This was a research project for Ronimo Games.
I worked together with other people on this project. I made 2D concepts, 3D models, the font and VFX.
"Every once in a while on Triki island, The God of Mischief is so bored that she makes a dungeon full of monsters.
The inhabitants of Triki organize a festival each year out of aspiration for their beloved god, but what they don't know is that she is actually a trickster through and through.
The festival is full of marketstalls and even has a training ground.
Here you can prepare yourself for the upcoming challenge.
Find your way to the end of the dungeon fight against each other, monsters and the God's final minion.
And as a final warning... Beware of the water! Good luck Warriors!"

2D Art
We knew that we wanted a God(des) of Mischief. So I started working on some concepts. The third concept is the one we used in the game, after we decided that the game was going to take place on an island.

Next was designing the character. We chose the second character's body shape and the fourth character's accessories to iterate further on.

At this point we knew the body type and had a vague idea about the accessories and clothing we wanted for the character. These concepts explore different clothing and accessories a bit more. For the final version we made a mixture of the elements of 1 and 4.

3D Art
For the game I also made and textured some 3D models. These are models I made, they are based on other teammembers their concept art.
I also made other enemies, but they didn't make it into the game due to time constraints.


VFX
I worked on VFX for the first time for this game.
When a player dies they will transform into a will-o-wisp. Here you can see the transformation and how they look afterwards:
When a enemy dies they will release essence that automatically travels to the player. Here you can see the VFX that the enemy releases and they way it look when it travels to the player:
The players all start with a machete as the base weapon. This machete has a slash and charge effect.
Some other VFX I made are fire and an explosion effect. The fire is used for torches and also for the coal enemy. The explosion is used when a bomb hits something and when a coal enemy explodes.
