Webtoon webscraper

I read quite a lot of webtoons and I was wondering what the most popular genre would be. Instead of looking it up online I thought it would be fun to try to do something I hadn't done before.

Make a webscraper!

I made this webscraper with Python

"De vlucht naar Panama"
English: Fleeing to Panama

De vlucht naar Panama roughly translates to Fleeing to Panama. In this satirical board game the players want to escape from the Netherlands.
"The economy of the Netherlands is in a bad shape. The poor players want to escape, but this doesn't come without a cost."

Because the Netherlands has become more expensive poverty is on the rise, which in turn means that the crime rate has increased. Many people join gangs, these gang members block the players on their travels. The gang members want food, drink or items of a certain minimum value before the player is allowed to pass. But how can you pay off gang members when you have no money?

You harvest and sell organs on the black market for money so you can buy the necessary items. With some luck, you might be able to harvest and steal from other players. As a player, you must make sure you reach the escape point before your heart or liver is harvested. Without these two organs, it is game over."

The game highlights a certain societal problem in a satirical way. This is done on purpose so the players can have fun while playing instead of getting angry or upset about the subject. With this game I try to give the players some room to discuss the situation and their feelings regarding the subject amongst themselves, creating a safe venting environment.

Huynen

Dutch project where you can walk through a prehistoric interactive 3D village.

I live in a province where a lot of megaliths are found. 54 of the 52 structures that we still have in the Netherlands are found in the province where I live. I come across them a lot and used to never really think about who build these structures and how their society and villages might have looked like. With this project I wanted to make an as accurate as possible village, I consulted with archeologists for this part as well. You can walk through the village and see information about certain objects and there is also the possibility to talk to the villagers.

I made the project with HTML, (S)CSS, JS and the ThreeJS library. The models, rigging and animations were all done in Blender. 2D elements were made using Photoshop.

Triki!

This was a research project for Ronimo Games. I worked together with other people on this project. I made 2D concepts, 3D models, the font and VFX.

"Every once in a while on Triki island, The God of Mischief is so bored that she makes a dungeon full of monsters. The inhabitants of Triki organize a festival each year out of aspiration for their beloved god, but what they don't know is that she is actually a trickster through and through.

The festival is full of marketstalls and even has a training ground. Here you can prepare yourself for the upcoming challenge.

Find your way to the end of the dungeon fight against each other, monsters and the God's final minion. And as a final warning... Beware of the water! Good luck Warriors!"

Portfolio website

My portfolio website needed to reflect who I am and where my interests lie. Because the homepage is the first page a vistor of the website will see, I made that page the main focus and different from the other pages. In my opinion the other pages that relay information should be more straight to the point.

I designed and coded the website myself using HTML, (S)CSS, and vanilla JS. The illustration on the homepage I made using Photoshop. The background stripes were done in Illustrator.
